12 Worlds Dragonscape
All 12 worlds use the same calendar, created by the Church using the lunar cycle of the larger of the 12 Worlds’ two moons, Unuagrada and Gimnazio (usually shortened in casual conversation to Una and Gim). The calendar has twelve months of 30 days each, separated into five weeks that are each six days long.
The first of each month is the new moon for Una, and the 16th is the full moon. Gim’s cycle is only 23 days, and thus varies from month to month. Years are numbered by Church reckoning (commonly abbreviated as “CR”) numbered in positive or negative years from the date that the 12 Worlds were sealed from one another – although few but the Church remembers this.
The calendar is also exactly one solar year long, meaning there is never a need for any sort of “leap year” and the solar events are on the same day every year. The vernal equinox is Machre 21st, the summer solstice is Geune 21st, the autumnal equinox is Sveftern 21st, and the winter solstice is Drakvenar 21st.
Our campaign began in the year 2053 CR. Here is a visual calendar of the year, including lunar cycles.
